Obituary of Miriam Miller

Miriam Miller passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the age of 85. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a resident of Warren, VT, Sarasota, FL and raised her family in Upper Saddle River, NJ. Along with being a homemaker, Miriam was a Real Estate Agent, a volunteer with the Upper Saddle River Shade Tree Commission, an EMT with the Upper Saddle River Ambulance Corps. and a dispatcher with the Upper Saddle River Police Department. Miriam and her late husband, John, spearheaded a committee for no above ground high tension wires throughout Upper Saddle River in the early 60’s. She was a long time member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church in Allendale. Her husband, John J. Miller passed away in 2014. She is survived by her six children: John Miller, Miriam “Bea” Lhotak, Robert Miller, Jill Welter; her husband Joseph, Pamela Jordan; her husband Michael Neppl; Jennifer Rafus; her husband David; 13 Grandchildren: Jana, Steven, Erin, Michael, Ian, Conor, Carly, McKenzie, Brooke, Jessica, Jimmy, Deacon and Erin. She is also survived by her 14 Great Grandchildren. The Receiving of Friends for Miriam will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Miriam’s memory may be made to Highlands Presbyterian Church, 270 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, NJ 07401.
