Obituary of Audrey M. Talarico

Audrey M. Talarico passed away peacefully on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 95. Born in Bayonne, NJ, on September 24, 1923 to Theresa and Henry G. Mason III, she grew up in Wood-Ridge,NJ, and was one of the first graduates of Wood-Ride High School. During the war, Audrey worked as telephone operator until she married G. Thomas Talarico in 1946. From then until the mid-1960s she devoted her time to raising her two sons, teaching Sunday school and to various charitable activities. In 1964, she rejoined the workforce in the financial sector, concurrently continuing her education in the Institute of Financial Education in accounting and real estate law. In 1969, she joined the River Edge Savings and Loan Association, eventually serving as Executive Vice President, Operations Manager and Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Audrey’s Professional affiliations include: the Institute of Financial Education-where she served as President of the North Jersey Chapter, Member of the Financial Managers Society, Chair of the Women’s Committee of the New Jersey Savings League, President of the Women’s Association of Savings & Loan Institutions of NJ, was an Instructor for Institute of Financial Education. Audrey was a 62 year member of First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey, at times serving on the board of deacons, a member Red Hat Society, volunteered at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ and was a 65 year member Order of the Eastern Star of NJ, Jephtha Chapter #134 in Ramsey. Audrey is survived by her two sons: Paul L. Talarico, his wife Nora; James A. Talarico, his wife Deborah; four grandchildren: Ian, Geoffrey and his wife Diana, Vanessa and Drew and his wife Lisa; four great grandchildren: Lilia, Mason, Chase and Kira. Audrey is predeceased by her siblings: Doris, Theresa and Henry. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26^th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 27^th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey, 15 Shuart Lane, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Interment will be private. Contributions in Audrey’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey.
