Obituary of Norma E. Holden
Norma E. Holden, age 96, of Franklin Lakes, died peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born in New York, NY and had been a resident of Wyckoff, Midland Park, Franklin Lakes and Sebring, FL before returning to Franklin Lakes two years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was a dog groomer with Willow Brae Kennels, Wyckoff, NJ. Throughout the years, Norma was active in the Gesneriad Society and the African Violet Club. She participated in the Feisty Ladies group at West Side Presbyterian Church. Norma is the loving mother of Norman R. “Bud” and his wife, Susan L. of Lake Stockholm, Howard F. and his wife, Susan G. of Reno, NV, Ruth M. Holden of Franklin Lakes and Deborah Holden-Holloway and her husband, Ian of Franklin Lakes. Left to carry on her legacy are Norma’s nine Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Joseph Guddemi of Hawthorne, who was married to her oldest daughter, Nancy V. Guddemi. Nancy predeceased her mother in 1989. Norma was also predeceased by her loving husband, Robert L. Holden in 2003 and her two sisters, Vivian Levy in 2016 and Murial Suhaka in 2017. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, 10:00 am at the Funeral Home followed by the interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Cemetery, Totowa NJ.
