Obituary of Anthony R. Kuolt

Toni resided in the Hunter’s Ridge Community, Bonita Springs, Florida and Wyckoff, New Jersey. He was born in 1924 in Rochester, NY and graduated from The Peddie School, Hightstown, NJ in 1942. He was in the class of 1946 from Hamilton College and received his Masters from Rutgers University.  At Hamilton he belonged to the Psi Upsilon Fraternity.  His college years were interrupted by his enlistment in the Army during WWII. He was pre-deceased and divorced from his first wife Ann Goodson Kuolt, whom he married in 1949 in Glen Falls, NY.  In 1952 he took a job teaching and coaching sports at his alma mater Peddie, where he coached the basketball team that won the 1957 State Championship.  As a result of his success in coaching sports at Peddie, he was hired by Rutgers University in 1957 to coach basketball, tennis, and soccer and to run the intramural sports program.  In 1961, he also was part of the fitness training team at Rutgers for one of the first groups of Peace Corps Volunteers.

 

In 1962 he left coaching to work in administration at Montclair State College until his retirement from education in 1987.  He then worked as a mortgage banker in Northern New Jersey.

 

In 1994, he purchased a house in Bonita Springs, where he spent his winters and became an avid golfer.  In 2005 he bought a house in the Hunter’s Ridge Community where he immensely enjoyed the last chapter of his long life.

 

He is survived by his second wife, Constance Fellows Kuolt; his children from his first marriage, Kristine Kuolt and Stephen Kuolt; and, his stepchildren Sharon Cooke and Richard Daniels. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

 

He will be missed by family and friends.
