Obituary of Theodore Thomas Schulz

Theodore T. “Ted” Schulz age 92, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Born in New York City, Ted lived in Washington Township for many years before moving to Wyckoff 41 years ago.

Ted served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy. He was supervisor of the Department of Public Works in the Township of Washington for 20 years before his retirement in 1988. In his later career he was Sexton in charge of building and grounds for the Advent Lutheran Church in Wyckoff for 18 years. Ted also served on many other committees as a parishioner of Advent Church.

Surviving is his loving wife Janet, his daughter Janice Slagle, and his sons, Jeff and his wife Kathleen and George Ulrich. Ted also leaves his grandchildren Kevin Schulz and his wife Diana, James Schulz and his wife Kaitlin, Daniel Slagle and his wife Ashley and Cheryl and her husband Adam Loeding. He was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Thor Schulz and Ava and Hudson Slagle. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Christine Skarsinski in 2000.

The Schulz family will receive friends on Sunday, 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah.
