Obituary of James K. Chen

James Chen, age 58 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 17, 1959 in XiZhi, New Taipei City, Taiwan and was the youngest of five children. He graduated from National Taiwan University in 1987 and moved to America for graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1990. He worked in finance and administration for non-profit organizations and worked as CFO at several companies, including the Center for Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, where he was admired for his work ethic and thoughtfulness to both his staff and the patients. James enjoyed playing with the family dog Mischa, working on the house, and going on road trips. He was a truly positive and motivated person who would always see things through, once he put his mind to it. James is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Wen and his cherished daughter, Vinnie. Family, friends, and others whose lives James touched are invited to the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481 to reminisce, and support each other on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM with the Funeral Ceremony commencing at 5:30 PM.
