Obituary of Albert Algera
Albert G. Algera age 96, of North Haledon, went home to glory on May 14, 2018. Albert was a resident of Prospect Park and Wyckoff before moving to the Holland Christian Home.
He served in the Navy during WWII where he began his training as an electrician. He founded Algera Electric Inc. in 1949 and led the business for 35 years. He was an active member of Prospect Park and later Unity Christian Reformed Church and served in many ways. He loved working in the yard planting trees. He was a faithful husband and loving father and grandfather. After retirement he became an active member of Gideons International and was a volunteer electrician for Paterson Habitat for Humanity. He and Catherine celebrated 71 years of marriage together.
He is survived by his sons, John and his wife, Debra, and Robert and his wife, Pam. Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren: Benjamin and his wife Emily, Alyse, Klye and Matthew and three great grandchildren: Sara, David and Joshua.
Visiting hours are Friday, May 18, 4:30 – 7:30 pm at the Holland Christian Home, (use 86 Romaine Rd., North Haledon, entrance)
A Memorial Service celebrating Albert’s life will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00 am, at Unity Christian Reformed Church, 339 North 11th St., Prospect Park, NJ.
