Obituary of Patricia A Florio

Patricia A. Florio, age 81 of Waldwick, died peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.  Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY and had been a longtime resident of Waldwick.  She was a parishioner of St. Luke’s RC Church, Ho Ho Kus.  Prior to her retirement, Pat was employed by the Waldwick Board of Education as an Elementary School Teacher at Julia A. Traphagen School.  Throughout the years, she was active and participated in the Girl Scouts of America, Order of the Evergreen and the William Paterson University Alumni Association. Pat was predeceased by her husband, Robert Florio in 2003.  She is survived by her loving daughters; Theresa (Terri) Florio of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Dorothy Dougherty and her husband Christopher of Waldwick, NJ and Margaret (Peggy) Florio of Bel Air, MD.  Also survived to carry on her legacy are her five grandchildren; Brianne and Kyle Dougherty, Andrea Bragg, Sarah Fowler and Kameron Neal and her three great grandchildren; Ashton Wyatt, Lilliana Florio and Theo Fowler.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Luke’s RC Church, 340 Franklin Tpke., Ho Ho Kus, NJ.  The interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Ho Ho Kus, NJ.  As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation, 1096 W. 6th Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209 or online at www.malwashington.com.
