Obituary of Raeann Lois Dykhouse

Dykhouse, Raeann Lois, of Wyckoff passed peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior on May 4, 2018. Born in Paterson, NJ on December 28, 1927 to John and Susan Dyksen, she was predeceased by her husband, Garret, in 2016 after 68 years of an amazingly loving and devoted marriage.

She is survived by her loving sons and their wives, David & Barbara of Franklin Lakes, Larry & Carole of Midland Park, and Tom & Linda of North Haledon, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren of whom she was immensely proud. Also survived by her brother, Elroy Dyksen of North Haledon, she was predeceased by her sister Huberta Smith in 2016.

Raeann was a resident of Wyckoff for over 65 years and served that community with selfless devotion for decades, including over thirty years of service as a member, and first female Captain, of the Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps and as a special police officer on the Wyckoff Police Dept. She served the broader community as a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross, both locally and as a member of the National Disaster Response Team, the Christian Health Care Center, and Eastern Christian School.

Raeann’s family will receive visitors on Monday, May 7 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home [www.vpfh.com], 257 Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff. Her life of love and devotion will be celebrated in a memorial service at Faith Community Church, 530 Sicomac Avenue in Wyckoff on Tuesday, May 8 at 11:00 am. A private graveside service will be held at Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery.
