Obituary of Dorothe Anthony

Dorothe (Dot) Anthony (nee Pawelko) 93, of Saddle River, passed away at home on April 19, 2018.  Born in Jersey City, she grew up in Paramus and lived in Saddle River since 1955.  She graduated from Ridgewood High School and attended Ridgewood Secretarial School.  Over the years, she was employed by U.S. Rubber, Bendix Aviation and Diagnostic Isotopes.  She enjoyed playing bridge, was an avid reader and a passionate student and collector of early American glass.  She was a member of the Westchester Glass Club and the National Early American Glass Club and a long-time member of The Saddle River Reformed Church in Upper Saddle River and the Saddle River Valley Club. For 64 years, Dot was the beloved wife of the late Ted Anthony, who passed away in 2016. She is survived by daughters Dale Grider and husband James and Caroline Schaffer and husband Steven, grandchildren Matthew and Jason Grider, Aliza, Rachel, and Joshua Schaffer, brother Thomas Pawelko and wife Jean, and her devoted aide of 5 ½  years Kareen Campbell. The family will receive friends and relatives at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ from 1:00 – 3:30 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018, with a prayer service at 3:30PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothe's memory to The Saddle River Reformed Church, 500 East Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458 or St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O.
