Obituary of Lucrezia Porta

Porta, Lucrezia (Mastropiero) age 77 of Hawthorne, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Lucrezia was born in Molfetta, Italy and came to the United States settling with her family 49 years ago in Jersey City. She recently moved to Hawthorne. Most of her career was spent as a seamstress, working at the D & R Coat Factory in Hoboken. She was a parishioner of St. Ann’s RC Church in Hoboken.  Lucrezia was a long time member of the Juventus Ladies Club also in Hoboken.  Surviving is her loving husband of 49 years, Vincenzo, her devoted son Louis and his wife Erica and her grandchildren, Vincent and Nadia.  The Porta family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, 2018, 4:00 until 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.  Funeral mass will be held Saturday 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff.  Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington.  Memorial contributions in Lucrezia’s name may be made to:  Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 (www.alznj.org).
