Obituary of Anthony Di Palma Jr.

Anthony Di Palma Jr. of Waldwick died, Saturday, April 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  Anthony would have celebrated his 92nd birthday on April 17th. Anthony was a Navy Veteran, who proudly served his country, not once but twice, during both World War II and the Korean War.  During WW II he served aboard the USS Shannon, DM25 as a Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.  He was the owner and operator of Di Palma’s Service Station with his brothers in New Milford, NJ until his retirement in the early 90’s.  He was a member of the Waldwick United Methodist Church, Waldwick.  Anthony enjoyed fishing, hiking and golfing with his family. Anthony is survived by his devoted children; Greg Di Palma and his wife Eileen of Ringwood, Sue Tasik and her husband Mark of Wyckoff and Jennifer Bieger and her husband Paul of Oakland.  Also surviving are his eight grandchildren; Lauren, Brian, Melissa, Alison, Kyle, Brad, Megan, and Matthew and three great grandchildren, Jace, Mackenzie and Liam.   He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Ellen Di Palma in 1998. Visiting, Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, 10:30 am at the Funeral Home followed by the interment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS. 66675.
