Obituary of Charles Witten
Charles Witten, age 83 of Kinnelon, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018. Born in Haledon, NJ, he lived in Wyckoff, then Green Pond for 30 years before moving to Kinnelon two years ago. Chuck was an Army veteran. He was the Owner / Operator with his brothers of Witten Bros. Trucking Co., Haledon, NJ for many years. He attended the Green Pond Bible Chapel and was a member of the NJ Trucker’s Association and the Green Pond Yacht Club. He enjoyed bowling, boating, music, and loved being with family and friends. Surviving is his wife Janice R. Witten (nee Nelson) of Kinnelon, his two daughters, Sue Drag (Bob) of Maple Grove, MN and Jacey Voorhis (Sean) of Fair Lawn, NJ. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Michael (Amy), Sandy (Jason) and Eddie; his four great grandchildren, Ali, Tyler, Jaden and Aleah. And his brothers and sisters, Robert (Joan) Witten of Franklin Lakes, Emma Sweetman (her late husband Ed) of Wyckoff, Katherine Van Dyk (Charles) of Midland Park, Virginia Zimmer (Mick) of North Haledon. He was predeceased by his grandson, Billy Drag, his 2 brothers, George (Jean), Ern (Pat) and his sister, Lorraine. Visiting Monday 3-7 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service Tuesday 11 am at the Funeral Home followed by the interment in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, NJ.
