Obituary of Kenneth J. Scheck, Sr.

Kenneth J. Scheck, Sr., age 70, died Thursday, March 15, 2018.  Ken was born in Paterson, NJ and lived in Northern New Jersey for much of his life and had recently moved to Florida.  Ken was a Fireman for the Passaic Fire Department, and he also served our country in the Army National Guard prior to being a partner of Scheck Brothers Deli in Haledon, NJ for approximately 30 years.  Ken also was an active Scouter for Boy Scout Troop 89 of Wyckoff and an avid baseball fan of the Mets.  Ken is survived by his Son, Kenneth J. Scheck, Jr. and his wife, Roseabel Scheck and Grandson, Ethan J. Scheck of Woodland Park, NJ; his Daughter, Kimberly A. Scheck and her fiancé Brandon Collie of Melbourne, FL; his ex-wife, JoAnn M. Scheck of Woodland Park, NJ; as well as his five brothers, August and his wife Bonnie; Gene and his wife Diane; Thomas and his wife Anna; Neal and his wife Francine; Harry and his wife Karoline; and his sister, Evelyn McCord.  Ken is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Ken was predeceased by his parents, August and Gene (nee Mastenbrook) Scheck, as well as his sister, Amelia Scheck and his four brothers, Joseph Scheck, Paul Scheck, Robert Scheck and William Mastenbrook. 

A viewing of the body will be available to the public at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ on Monday, March 26^th from 5-9 PM.  The cremation will take place on Tuesday, March 27^th.  In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
