Obituary of Margery A. McCann
Margery A. McCann (nee Cavanaugh) passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the age of 65. Born in Jersey City, she was a long-time resident of Midland Park, previously residing in Ridgefield Park. Margery was a Teacher’s Assistant at the Little Crane School in Ridgewood and the Village School for Children in Waldwick. While children were her passion professionally, it was her role as mother and Nana, that truly brought her joy and animated her days. That love and devotion was something she shared with her husband Michael. She and Michael were inseparable and their love for one another was an inspiration to family and friends alike. She is predeceased by her brother Bobby and sister Maureen. Margery is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Michael P. McCann; son John E. Connors, his wife Therese; three daughters: Jaime R. Church, her husband Brian; Caitlin M. Richmond, her husband John; Lauren M. Goodell, her husband Mike; 11 grandchildren: Abigail, Ella, Elias, Quinn, Grace, Ellie, Jack, Addison, Aubrey, Ava and Chloe; sister Joanne Connolly and brother Walter P. Cavanaugh. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 2 – 4 & 7- 9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Maryrest Mausoleum in Mahwah. Contributions in Margery’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
