Obituary of Henrietta Borst

Henrietta Borst passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2018 at the age of 99. Born in Midland Park she was a longtime resident there until moving to the Holland Christian Home in North Haledon in 2003. Before retiring, Henrietta was a Secretary at High House and Herz Insurance Company in Midland Park. She was a lifelong member of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church where she was a member of the Ruth Circle bible study group and a member of the Senior Crusaders, a member of the Auxiliary of West Bergen Mental Health and a member of the auxiliary of Family Services in Ridgewood. Henrietta is predeceased by her husband William H. Borst, a WW II veteran and prisoner of war, and daughter Catherine Gebhardt. She is survived by her two daughters: Carol Cousineau, her husband Tom and Susan Vermilyea; five grandchildren: Lindsay, Emily, Jamie, Christopher, Libby: six great grandchildren; a sister Clarissa Strand; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, 11:00 am, at the Holland Christian Home, 151 Graham Ave., North Haledon, NJ 07508. Interment will follow at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood. Contributions in Henrietta's memory may be made to the Holland Christian Home or the Valley Hospital Foundation, C/O Valley Hospice, 223 N. Van Dien Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450. In lieu of a visitation the family invites you to a reception at 1:30 pm at the Holland Christian Home in the Great Room on the first floor.
