Obituary of Mae Moezelaar

Moezelaar, Mae, age 92, of Wyckoff, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Born in Prospect Park, she lived there until moving to Wyckoff in 1998. Mae was a Legal Secretary with her last employment at De Yoe, De Yoe, and Guiney in Paterson until she retired. She was a member of Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prospect Park, an organist for 60 years, accompanist for the Apollo Glee Club, Back to God Hour, Eastern Academy Choir, a member of Eastern Christian High School Ladies' Circle, the North 4th Street School Ladies' Aid and a volunteer at the Christian Health Care Center. She is survived by her daughters Dorothy Faasse and her husband Ralph of North Haledon, Trena Swart and her husband Calvin of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Janice Van Grouw and her husband Samuel of Midland Park, 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Huizing of Grand Rapids, MI, her brother Dr. Peter Pousma De Boer and his wife Joy also of Grand Rapids, MI, her sister-in-law Lillian De Boer of North Haledon, and several nieces and nephews. Mae was predeceased by her beloved husband John of 39 years, in 1985. She was also predeceased by her brother George De Boer, brother-in-law William Huizing, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Visiting hours are Friday, 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ, www.vpfh.com. Funeral service is Saturday, 9:00 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn.
