Obituary of Raymond B. Bares
Raymond B. “Ray” Bares passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the age of 86. Born in Little Ferry, NJ he was a long time resident of Saddle River. Ray proudly served in the United State Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a self-made real estate developer in Bergen County, a parishioner of St. Gabriel’s Church in Saddle River, loved the outdoors, enjoyed bowling, playing tennis, skiing, gardening, hunting and cherished spending time at his Vermont home. Ray was an avid Giants fan, a member of the Hackensack Golf Club where he won multiple Club Championships, a member of the Little Ferry Rotary Club and the Saddle River Valley Club. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Barbara Bares and was so proud of their five daughters: Bobbi Ann Stubeck; Jodi C. Santangelo; Rae K. Celentano, her husband John; Shelley Barrow, her husband Bryan; Tricia Gallagher and her husband John. Ray is also survived by his thirteen beloved grandchildren: Mike, Annie, Cole, Owen, Molly, Maddie, Quinn, Sean, Sophie, Colin, Charlie, Eamonn and Rocco and is predeceased by grandson Jack. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 3 – 7 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church, 88 E. Saddle River Rd., Saddle River, NJ.Contributions in Ray’s memory may be made to the Michael J.
