Obituary of Rachel Jeanette Curcio
Rachel Jeanette Curcio, of Manchester, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the age of 94. Born in Manhattan in 1923, Rachel lived in the Bronx, on Long Island, in Florida and Monroe, NY before residing in Manchester in 2001. Rachel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. For over 20 years she was an office manager at Everite Stationary in New York City. Her greatest joy was her family and friends and brought a smile and a great spirit of life and love to all who knew her. Cooking was her way of expressing her love and she did it deliciously. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Ann Rose Simon of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, Lorraine and Mike Clemente of Toms River, NJ, and Jacqueline and Mark Shrekgast of Mahwah, NJ; her 7 grandchildren, Michael Clemente and wife Catherine, Rachel Cluna, Zach Simon and wife Kara, Noah Simon, Danielle, Emily, and Julianna Shrekgast; 4 Great Grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Michael Clemente, Benjamin and Emerson Cluna. She was pre-deceased by her husband Frank, her parents Michael and Rose Martello, sister Marie Sacino, brothers Lawrence and Michael Martello, and her son-in-law Henry Simon. Visitation with the family will be at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home at 257 Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff, NJ 07481. (www.vpfh.com) on Friday, November 24, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Church 170 Bradhurst Ave Hawthorne, NY. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
