Obituary of Andrew Nahas
Andrew “Drew” Nahas of Wayne, formerly of Wyckoff, died at home on October 14th at the age 41.
He was a graduate of Ramapo High School and The Natural Gourmet Institute in New York.
He founded and ran Fox Hedge, a platform for day traders and was a co-founder as well as videographer and photographer of The Bourne Explorer, a website devoted to exploring all facets of arts and culture.
Drew was passionate about his bible studies, art, photography, drawing and the New York Yankees.
His friends will affirm that his passion for and knowledge of The Grateful Dead were exceeded by very few people.
Drew and his family shared a love of movies, and he never ceased to amaze them with his ability to describe a long-ago scene in detail or quote extensive dialogue verbatim.
Different people knew different facets of Drew-caring, supportive, smart, funny, sensitive, introspective.
Drew was deeply empathetic and caring for others, always making certain of a friend or family member’s well-being before considering his own. He loved his friends’ babies and children and received great joy from being with them.
His family and many friends know he was a sweet and gentle soul who suffered in a world not often kind to the sweet and gentle.
Drew is survived by his parents, Bob and Virg Nahas of Wayne, brother Josh of Manhattan, uncles Tom Decker, Barry Decker, Sr., aunt, Pat Calley, cousins Barry Decker, Jr., Linda, Diane, Chris and Cody Decker, Courtney Tamangini, Kathy Galitz and her husband Todd.
