Obituary of Roger Lee Mitchem, Sr.
Roger Lee Mitchem, Sr., 75, of Ho-Ho-Kus, lost his battle to cancer at home on Friday, September 29, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born in West Virginia, Roger lived in Ho-Ho-Kus since 1975.
He was a Plant Operator for Northwest Bergen County Utilities in Waldwick until he retired. Roger was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Church, and past member of the Masonic Lodge in Clifton. He was most known for being active with the classic and antique car show community.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol, his sons: Roger, Jr. and Todd, both of Ho-Ho-Kus, and his brothers Clifford and Donald. He was predeceased by his brothers Howard and Harless.
Visiting hours are Monday, October 2, 2017, 2 – 4 & 7 - 9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, 11:00am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the St. Luke’s Cemetery in Ho-Ho-Kus.
