Obituary of Florence Eleanor Toth Dickey
Florence Eleanor Toth Dickey, 89, died peacefully on August 23, 2017. She was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and grew up in the Bronx, NY. Following her marriage to Samuel Dickey in 1948, she lived in Fair Lawn, Wyckoff, Brick, and Jackson New Jersey. Her final 2 years were spent in Logansport, IN. Florence worked as a secretary for the Haband company, Ken Parker (playwright), CBS (Columbia Record Company), and finally as an administrative assistant to the Business Manager for the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District Board of Education. She retired in 1987. Florence was predeceased by her husband, Samuel of 58 years who died in 2006. Surviving are her three children and their spouses: Sharon (Robert) McKissick, Douglas (Nancy) Dickey, and Bradley (Dawn) Dickey, Ten grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2 - 4:30 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 4:30 pm. Private interment will take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
