Obituary of Julius Silvan
SILVAN, Julius Lester, age 92, of Bayville and formerly of Waldwick, died September 5, 2012. Born in Austria, he was raised in Hungry until he was 10. He then came to the US living in Waldwick for more than 25 years before moving to Bayville. A World War II Army veteran, Les was a Supervisor at Becton Dickinson in East Rutherford until he retired. He was also a member of the St. Luke's Church Knights of Columbus and a member of the Cedar Creek Country Club. Les will always be remembered for his love of golf and the water. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie, his children Richard Silvan of Apex, NC, and Barbara Maniscalco of Ramsey; his 3 grandchildren: Jacki, Jeffrey, and Jamie, and his sisters Ursula Lueddecke and Ida Tufaro. Les was predeceased by his son William in 1970. Visiting hours are Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff, LLC 257 Godwin Avenue Wyckoff, NJ, www.vpfh.com. Funeral Mass is Monday 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Church, 340 Franklin Tpk, HoHoKus, NJ 07423. Memorial Contribution may be made to Colleen Giblin Foundation, 700 D Lake St., Ramsey, NJ 07446.
