Obituary of Vasilis "Bill" C. Televantos
Vasilis C. Televantos of Midland Park passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the age of 83.
Vasilis was born and raised in Neo Chorio, Cyprus. In 1955, he immigrated to the U.S. He previously lived in Queens,NY, Cliffside Park,NJ, Ramsey,NJ before settling in Midland Park for the last 45 years.
He dedicated his life to his family and friends and will always be remembered for his charisma, witty jokes, and gentlemen ways.
He spent his career working as a Chef for the Talk of the Town in Hillside,NJ and The Nyack Old Fashion. His love of work and people allowed him an additional 20 years at the Park Ridge Diner was where he was adored by all patrons.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and trips to Atlantic City.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary, his son, Dino, daughters Cathy and Pauline, his grandchildren, Christina, Christopher, Joseph, Rich, and Nicole, his two great grandchildren, William and Noah and his sister, Militsa. He was preceded by his parents, Constantinou and Panayiota, his sister, Eleni, and his brothers Andrès and Nicholas.
Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 10 am at St. Nicholas GO Church, 467 Grandview Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
