Obituary of Vito Seminara

Vito Seminara, of Mahwah, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on June 4th at the age of 77.  Born in Palermo, Italy, Vito immigrated to the United States at age twelve and resided in Brooklyn, New York.  He graduated from Brooklyn College and attended New York University Stern School of Business.

After a twenty years career at Chase Manhattan Bank, Vito became the Chief Financial Officer of Variety, an entertainment trade publication.  In 1987, he orchestrated the sale of Variety to Cahners Corporation.  He then became the Chief Financial Officer for Panorama Press, retiring in 1996.

Vito is survived by his wife Mary; children Karen & Gene Patton, Andrea & Erik Lisher and Peter & Lauren Seminara; grandchildren Emma, Aidan, Alexa, Brian, Avery, Jonathan and Matthew.

An avid golfer, tennis player and skier, Vito was determined to continue joining his family in the sports he loved, despite his physical challenges.  For that reason, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the National Sports Center for the Disabled in his honor. (www.nscd.org)
