Jane Drucker posted a condolence

She will be missed by many and so inspiring to me considering what she accomplished. Many people probably do not know that she only came to the assisted livng approx 5 years ago. I remember asking her about watching the Yankees. She said that she knew who all the players were based on how they walked and hit the ball. She was a strong and determined woman. When she first moved in she was determined to maintain her independence for as long as she could. I got the chance to see Melva for the last time just a couple of weeks ago. She still recognized my face! Love you forever Melva. See you on the other side. Your friend Jane.

We found her and she found us! Melva has been one of the best friends we have ever made. We met 5 years ago at Waterford Glen. She shared the dining table with Betty Petillo and my mother-in-law, Loretta Durkin. We all played bingo together every Saturday and Sunday afternoon at Waterford. We kept her up to date on all the current events from sports to politics, her thirst to keep up to date was never quenched. The picture is Melva and I out for fall drive in 2009. She was at our home for Christmas and Easter dinners this past year and fit in with everyone like she had known them all for years! God watch over my friend. She is one of your greatest creations and heaven is a better place today with her there. I know she will be there to welcome all of us! Rest in peace our friend. We love you.

Even though we never had the opportunity to meet in person, I am thankful to have heard the incredible stories shared about the life of Melva Radcliffe. It is apparent that she touched many and I know she will be sorely missed. Please accept my sincere sympathy on your loss.

Melva was a extraordinary human being. She was like a child always curious, warm and loving. We will miss her and will always cherish the times we had with her. My mother and father Marge and Bill Pfriender were neighbors of hers in Spring Lake and they had so many fun times together, finding out that Melva was the elementary school teacher to the "Federici boys" in Paterson who were Marge's nephews and she loved to tell Marge how smart and well dressed the boys were! Melva always spoke about the love of her family, our condolences to all.
