Obituary of Salvatore Sinagra
Sinagra, Salvatore, age 90, passed away in Ridgewood, NJ, on Monday, May 1st, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Salvatore was born in Italy and lived in The Bronx, Garfield, Washington Township and Franklin Lakes. Salvatore started his own business, Benfatto Construction, in the 1960’s and was a master mason contractor. He left his mark in physical structures located all around New York and New Jersey, including the Atlantic City Convention Center and the Goldman Sachs Building in Jersey City. His many accomplishments included many awards for his fine craftsmanship. He will always be remembered for his humbleness, honesty, integrity and devotion to his family. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Gaetana, in 2014. He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Fortunata Campbell and Anne Sinagra and their husbands, Myles and Gianfranco, and his grandchildren, Jack, Salvatore, Sal, Myles, Conor and Johnpaul. Also surviving is his sister, Anna Zuccaro, his sister-in-law, Marie Devaney and her husband, Patrick, along with many nieces and nephews both in the U.S. and Italy. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 7th from 4-8pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 8th at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Entombment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
