Obituary of Robert Romano

Robert Romano, 69, of North Haledon, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, Bob lived in West Milford before moving to North Haledon 23 years ago. He joined the U.S. Marines and served as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War. He then went on to work with his father at Romano’s Plaza Pizza in Brooklyn. Bob was heavily involved with the Christian Overcomers in Garfield for many years, serving in various capacities. Bob is survived by his loving wife Judilee, his daughters, Julie Hartley and her husband Brian of Hamilton, VA and Jessica Weiland and her husband Tom of Oakland, NJ, 3 grandchildren: Brendan, Tyson and Thomas; and his siblings: Elizabeth Alexandra of New York, NY, Neil Romano and his wife Barbara of Celebration, FL and Greg Romano and his wife Janice of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4 - 8 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Service will be Friday, 11:00am at the Living Word Reformed Church, 21 Pleasant View Dr., North Haledon, NJ 07508.
