Obituary of Alice A. O'Biso

O’Biso, Alice A, (nee Kuhnen), age 98, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Haledon NJ and lived most of her life in North Haledon before moving to Pompton Plains 10 years ago. Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Haledon for many years where she served as a pianist, and then a member of St. Clément’s Episcopal Church of Hawthorne, NJ. After the death of her father, Charles Kuhnen, Alice managed the family textile mill in Haledon, NJ. She then joined an importer of Italian textiles in New York City and later worked in Technical Services for William Paterson University Library for over 20 years before her retirement. Surviving is her daughter, Holly Dikun and her husband, John of Wyckoff, NJ, her grandsons, Bradley and Tyler Dikun and her brother, Carl Kuhnen of Paterson, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry and sisters, Theodora Hayford and S. Marie Kuhnen. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 3:30 -7:30 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the interment in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson, NJ.
