Obituary of James A. Etterbeek
ETTERBEEK
James, 90, of Wyckoff, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Born in Newark, Jim lived in Midland Park for over 50 years before moving to Wyckoff 2 years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman aboard the USS Haven during the Korean War. Jim was a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI where he met his wife of 66 years, Anne, who predeceased him in 2012. He was also a member of Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff.
Jim was a Traffic and Warehouse Manager for Bunker Hill Commercial Warehouse in Paterson until he retired.
He is survived by his four children: David of Mahwah, NJ, Susan Soderlind (Carl) of Park City, UT, Karen VanderHorn of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Debra Dyer of Portland, ME, 9 grandchildren: Kristen, David, Rebecca, Rachel, Peter, Margaret, James, Andrew, and Eric and 4 great grandchildren: Jack, Carson, Connor, and Alejandro.
There will be a memorial service at 1:00pm on Friday, January 27 at the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, 422 Cedar Hill Ave, Wyckoff, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory can be made to the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
