Obituary of Orazio Vitulano
Orazio “Ray” Vitulano of Wyckoff, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 22, 2017. He was 85. Born in Molfetta, Italy, he was a resident of Hoboken, NJ, before moving to Weehawken where he was a longtime resident, and where he and his wife Agnes raised their six children. Ray proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. Local #10 in New York City before retiring in 1998. Ray could always be seen in front of his home on Gregory Ave., in Weehawken tending to his property and that of his neighbors. His greatest joy was his large family. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years Agnes “Sylvia” Vitulano; six children: Tommy Vitulano (Maritza), Diana Cipriani (Glenn), Christopher Vitulano (Ruth), Linda Vitulano (Alberto), Nora Vitulano and Karen Vitulano-Salzman (Lonny); eleven grandchildren: Christopher C.,(his wife Samara), Christopher V., Jacqueline, Brandon, Tommy Jr., Samantha, Chloe, Briana, Ian, Celine and Madison. Ray is also survived by his brother Louis Vitulano (Loretta), predeceased by his brother Joseph and cherished by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington.
