Obituary of Virginia G. Carrick
Virginia Grace Carrick passed away peacefully, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, January 9, 2017. Born in Paterson, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Midland Park and a resident at the Atrium in Allendale. The daughter of the late James and Grace Brucato; she is predeceased by her husband Harold Carrick and brother, Joseph (Jean) Brucato. Loving mother of Debbie (Walter) Lalumiere and Jim (Peggy) Carrick. Cherished grandmother of Walter (Nicole) Lalumiere, Lauren Maher, Meghan, Caitlin and Jamie Carrick. Loving great grandmother of Emilie and Nate Lalumiere, Shayla McCann and Connor Maher. Virginia was a dedicated and caring English teacher for 43 years at the Midland Park and Allendale school districts. Music was Virginia’s passion. She directed many choirs including Church of the Nativity, where she was a longtime parishioner, and at the United Methodist Church both in Midland Park, NJ. She enjoyed reading, Wii Bowling, playing cards and will be remembered for her amazing Italian meals that everyone loved. Virginia touched many lives and will be greatly missed. A special thank you to Jenifer and Molaine, who were her caring and dedicated aides. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3-7 P.M. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Guardian Angel Church, 320 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
