Obituary of Mildred Oberle
OBERLE
Mildred, 100, of Ho-Ho-Kus, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 6, 2017. Born in New York City, Mildred has lived in Ho-Ho-Kus for the past 65 years. She was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S, Marine Corps during World War II. She then went on to work for Lord and Taylor in New York City. Mildred was a parishioner of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River.
She is survived by her loving children: Donald Oberle and his wife Glory of Mahwah, Dennis Oberle of Wyckoff, Jane and her husband Barry Donnelly and Judy Pisani of Ramsey. Mildred is also survived by her 7 adoring grandchildren: Donna, Dannielle, Kelly, Angela, Joseph, Scott and Christopher as well as 5 great grandchildren, and her sister Frances Frey.
She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Oberle in 2006 and her brother John Bergin.
Visiting hours are Sunday 2 - 5 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 am at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred’s memory can be made to the Spectrum for Living, 210 Rivervale Rd #3, Rivervale, NJ 07675 or Church of the Presentation.
