Obituary of Joseph G. Perino
Joseph G. Perino passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was 80. Born in New York, NY, he was a resident of Waldwick, NJ, for the past 52 years, and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Joe, known to many as “Poppa Joe,” was a bartender at Amsters Prospect Tavern in Waldwick and an avid sports fan. He attended St. Luke’s Parish in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Katherine P. Perino, daughter Tara M. Perino, her partner Keith Faber, son Carl J. Perino, his wife Tami Videon; five grandchildren: Patricia, Molly, Adelaide, Calvin and Lydia; a brother Rocco Perino. Joe is predeceased by his son Edward J. Perino and sister Marie Dugan. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 4 – 8 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:15 AM at St. Luke’s Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s memory may be made to the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps., P.O. Box 244, Waldwick, NJ 07463.
