Dear Micki, Elizabeth, Maria and the entire family,
4 and a half years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Gary for the first time; My life has never been the same. He was such an inspiration on so many levels.
It’s strange, Micki and Elizabeth, I have only met you once (and Maria, we’ve never met) but I feel like I know you all, so well. Gary spoke about you ALL THE TIME!!! He’s shared so many stories over the years; one of my favorites - a recent story about AJ visiting Gary and Micki – AJ must have decided to redecorate a hallway with his crayons… When Gary told the story, his eyes were wide open, his smile was as big as ever, and he couldn’t stop giggling as he spoke. He thought it was hysterical to have caught AJ in the act. He was laughing so hard and filled with genuine happiness and pride that he was able to talk about AJ, HIS grandson’s antics.
Gary’s face would light up when he spoke about all of you… especially AJ and Charlie. He loved you all so much. SO MUCH. Just talking with him, you could tell…
Elizabeth, Gary was so excited your entire pregnancy… and while you were in labor, I swear he was dancing down the hallways in anticipation of your new arrival. When he shared pictures of Charlie for the first time, you could literally see his heart flutter through his “Hot97” tee-shirt.
I know there are no words to comfort you right now so I’ll say this: Gary was an amazing, loving person. He was filled with compassion and the drive to help others. He left this world in a better place than found it. I’ll miss everything about Gary. I will miss him greatly. Work will never be the same and my life will never be the same.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to have known Gary.
I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for Gary and for all of you...
I'm sending you all the love I have right now. Be gentle with yourselves as you follow the most difficult journey ahead…
Xo, Victoria McAteer

To All,
My sincere sorrow to see Gary go. We had many adventures together at North Bergen High and the year after while he was attending Steven's Tech. Please pass on my condolances to his Mother if she is still living and to Rick his younger brother whom I also knew.
I will not be able to attend the service but my nephew, Chris Conlon lives in Wykoff and may be able to drop in on the viewing. If Larry Cantwell or Vic Ciossi visit please pass them my number and ask them to call me at 478-501-6335.
Gary was a good person and smart. I think of our adventures when ever boredom visits me.
May he rest peacefully.
With fond memories,
Dennis conlon
