Obituary of Michael Anthony Cardinale

Cardinale, Michael A., age 83 of Mahwah, died, Monday, December 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in Brooklyn, NY and had resided in Mahwah, Franklin Lakes and California before moving back to Mahwah in 2015. He was an US Army veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a former parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes and currently a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, Mahwah. Prior to his retirement, Michael was employed with CNA Insurance Company, New York, NY for over 30 years as an Employee Benefit Broker. Michael is survived by his loving family; his wife of 54 years, Frances A., his daughter, Geralyn Cardinale both of Mahwah, his son, Richard Cardinale of Ft. Myers, FL and his granddaughter, Brittany Nagle. Michael was predeceased by his grandson, Edward Nagle in 1990. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Prayers will be said on Friday, December 9, 2016 beginning at 8:45 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, 47 Island Road, Mahwah, NJ 07430. The interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Valley Hospital Foundation, Valley Hospice, 223 North Van Dien, Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
