Obituary of John H. Riley
John H. “Jack” Riley, left this world to join his beloved Wilma on November 15, 2016. He was 89. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was a long time resident of Wyckoff, NJ. Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his sons John, Robert and Richard, their wives Joyce, Sherry and Kim, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His career in education was spent at Fair Lawn High School and Indian Hills High School, the latter as principal. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He will be missed by family, friends and his Wyckoff neighbors. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 555 Russell Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa. Memorial Contributions in John’s memory may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
