Obituary of Phyllis Talbot Fairbairn

Phyllis (nee Talbot), Fairbairn, 82, of Wyckoff, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2016 at the Villa Marie Claire hospice in Saddle River, NJ. Born in Hartford, CT, and raised in West Hartford, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Dr. Henry Pierce and Mary Laverne (Tatum) Talbot. She graduated from William H. Hall High School and Bay Path College and resided in Wyckoff for 48 years. She was a talented decorative painter, a member of the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband Donald, sister Mari-Anne Kimball and her husband Donald, daughter Linda Coppee and her husband David of Easton, PA, sons Henry and his wife Shirley of Oakland, CA, John and his wife Karen de Seve of New Providence, NJ, Scott of Portland OR, and Paul and his wife Gabrielle of Seattle, WA; and grandchildren Christa, Jonathan, Ariel, Althea, Camille, Gunnar, Paige, Cyane, Dylan and Ellery, and great-grandchildren Nikhil and Kiran. The family will receive their friends on Saturday, October 29th from 1:30-3:30 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 PM. Interment will be in the Talbot family plot in La Fayette, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’ memory made to the Holy Name Health Care Foundation for Villa Marie Claire, 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666, would be appreciated.
