Obituary of Florence M. Esposito

Florence Marie Esposito (nee Colucci) passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016. She was 87. Florence was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family, holiday traditions and giving to others. Those who shared Florence’s life remember the tremendous grace she brought to this world, her contagious smile, selfless heart, good humor, and quiet strength. Her example of love and forgiveness was to be admired and will never be forgotten. Throughout her life she captivated the hearts of those who had the honor to know her, and thereby love her. Florence grew up in New York City and dedicated her early years to raising her children and working at a job she loved. She spent the last 30 years in Fort Lee, NJ where she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and continued working until she was 85 years old. She loved the independence her work afforded her and valued the countless friendships she made. Florence is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jerry, her siblings, Mario Colucci and wife Irma, Bruno Colucci, children Jean Kern, Arthur Esposito, Lisa Capirossi and husband James, her grandchildren, Jennifer Esposito, Lauren Lewis and husband Michael, James, Andrew and Nicholas Capirossi, great grandson, Thomas Snyder, and her many nieces and nephews. Florence was pre-deceased by her brother Rocco Fiorile and wife Edith, sister-in-law Theresa Colucci and infant sister Norma. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 27th at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, 88 E. Saddle River Road, Saddle River, NJ, on Friday, October 28th at 10:30 am. Florence’s family would especially like to thank the staff at Lenox Hill and Valley Hospital and the Villa Marie Claire community for their excellent care and support.
