Obituary of Lilyan S. Stone
Lilyan S. Stone passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was 88. Born in Denver, CO, she was a longtime resident of Ho-Ho-Kus before moving to Mahwah recently. Lilyan was a homemaker, an avid gardener, enjoyed reading, travel, and art and was a member and past president of the Women Gardeners of Ridgewood. She was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Lilyan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert W. Stone; three sons: David A. Stone, Bradford S. Stone, his wife Pamela, Evan W. Stone; three grandchildren: Robert, Allison and Daniel; a sister Bobbe Tate, and two brothers: Stanley Sydenham, his wife Carla, and Ronald Sydenham. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. The funeral service will be held on September 24th at 9:30 a.m. in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 70 Sheridan Ave., Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. Interment will follow at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, NJ.
