Obituary of Peter K. Bommer
Peter K. Bommer passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday, August 20, 2016. He was 79. Born and raised in Batavia, NY, he was a resident of Oakland, NJ, before moving to Franklin Lakes, NJ, 36 years ago. Peter attended Batavia High School, Darrow Prep School, Paul Smith’s College and the College of William and Mary. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Before retiring in 2010, Peter was the President of FIRM, Inc., in Mahwah, NJ, where he was a Commercial Insurance Broker. He was a CPCU (Certified Property Casualty Underwriter), an active member of the Blood Bank Foundation, the Republican Club, Lambda Chi Fraternity, a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Allendale, an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a member of the Black Meadow Hunt Club in Warwick, NY. Peter is predeceased by his daughter in law Maureen and a granddaughter Julia. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Sollace M. Bommer, two sons: Stephen K. Bommer and Jenifer of Franklin Lakes, NJ, Daniel L. Bommer, his wife Kathleen, of Reston, VA; and daughter Gretel B. Lynch of Arlington, VA; ten grandchildren: Kelly, Kent, Grant, Emily, Curtis, Abigail, Kiera, Molly, Loren, and Lindsey; two brothers: Michael Bommer, William Bommer and a sister Rachael Kuhe. A Memorial Service for Peter will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 10:30 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 55 George Street, Allendale, NJ 07401.
