Obituary of William R. Lockwood Jr.

Lockwood, William “Bill”, age 92 of Upper Saddle River died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Christian Health Care Center, Wyckoff, NJ. He was born in Somerville, NJ and was a longtime resident of Franklin Lakes and Surf City, NJ before moving to Upper Saddle River in 2014. He was a 1949 graduate of Columbia University. Bill was a World War II Navy veteran. Prior to his retirement, Bill was an Executive Vice President with Global Sysco in Garden City, NY. Bill gave back to the community of Franklin Lakes, serving on the Board of Recreation from 1967-1969 and as a Councilman and Fire Commissioner from 1970-1973. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris E. Lockwood of Upper Saddle River,NJ, a son, Robert Lockwood and his wife, Lauren of Upper Saddle River, NJ, two daughters; Patti Sue Lockwood and her partner, Jo-Ann Calcagno of Boca Raton, FL and Jill M. and her husband, Peter Seidel of Spring Hill, FL. Also surviving are five grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Grace Lockwood and his sister, Grace Lockwood. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2016 from10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with the interment at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ
