Obituary of Virginia H. Knackmuhs

Virginia H. “Ginny” Knackmuhs passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016. She was 65. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was a longtime resident of Wyckoff. Ginny achieved a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University in Government followed by a Master’s of Public Administration and a Master’s in Computer Science. After a long career in Information Technology she retired from Roche Pharmaceuticals in Nutley. After retirement, Ginny devoted herself to the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network, serving as Vice President and Treasurer. Ginny enjoyed reading, writing, watching movies, and traveling. She was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff. Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Gary G. Knackmuhs, M.D., her daughter Elizabeth K. Revere, M.D. and her husband David J. Revere, M.D., two sons: Eric G. Knackmuhs, Scott C. Knackmuhs, her grandson Alexander Revere, and three brothers: Joseph A. Haynes, his wife Judie, Brother Charles R. Haynes and Peter J. Haynes, his wife Elizabeth. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 19th at 9:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
