Obituary of Jeffrey A. Poppe

Jeffrey A. Poppe, age 55, of Waldwick, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016. Born in Newark, NJ, he worked at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for almost 5 years. Prior to that, Jeff was employed by Poppe Contracting, Franklin Lakes, NJ, for nearly 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Maureen Poppe, and his two beloved daughters, Alexandra Grace and Taylor Nicole. Jeff also leaves behind his father, Walter H. Poppe, mother-in-law Grace Kelly, brothers and sister-in-laws, Debra Poppe and Don Van Lenten, Glen and Gina Poppe, John and Allison Poppe, and Patricia Kelly along with numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeff was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Poppe, brother Wayne Poppe and sister-in-law, Grace R. Kelly. Jeff was a devoted husband and father who cherished his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff. The funeral mass for Jeff will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ 07432. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, in Jeff’s memory may be made to The Jeff Poppe Memorial Education Fund.
