My thoughts and prayers go out to Jeff's family as I just learned today of his passing this past summer. He was a colleague in sports as we coached together at Pascack Hills. I admired his love of the game, his respect for the players, his preparation and positive role model, and most of all, for his friendship.
I will always have great memories of our coaching days, the times spent on and off the basketball court, the college games at the Meadowlands Arena, and of course, our conversations as to who had the oldest car!
Rest in Peace, my friend
Walt

I was shocked to hear of Jeff's passing. I shouldn't have been. I knew he had a real tough fight against huge odds but I was always hoping he would get some sort of positive break. Jeff always had an easy way about him and my contact with him was almost always when he was trying to help others. He was a true gentleman and will be, I believe, missed by all who knew him.

Dear Dwight and Family,
Your sorrow is my sorrow.
"Our first great responsibility is to be a family, a community, revealing first to one another something of God's own love and concern and tenderness." (Mother Teresa)
May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and minds. Eternal rest grant unto Jeffrey, oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through you mercy, Lord, rest in peace. Amen
Lovingly, Judy

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Murren family. I feel blessed that I was a part of Jeff's life, not only as a colleague, but friend. Jeff was always able to bring out the best in everyone. I try to think of him when I teach and often find myself asking "what would Jeff do?" He was taken from all of us too soon but I'm so thankful for the time I had with him.

Kathy and I send our sincere condolences to Kathy, Kylin, Ryan and the entire extended Murren family. Jeff was an extraordinary guy and an exceptional friend. People were drawn to him by his sense of humor, kindness and outgoing nature. He was a fierce competitor on the court/playing field and possessed a strength of character that few could match. We have been blessed to be counted among his many friends and will miss him deeply. We will continue to remember him and the entire family in our prayers.

Rarely in life does a person have the good fortune to have met a great friend, a great coach, and a great teacher.....I was fortunate to have found all three in one person, Jeff Murren.
Despite being overmatched in most of our BCSL American contests and trying to compete on the court in the dark confines of "The Cave" at Fort Lee High School, Jeff was always a source of support and friendship throughout my high school years and well beyond. His smile will be missed by all of us.
I think I speak for all of my former high school teammates (Lew, Len, Doug and Joe to name a few) when I say we all wish we could have one more day in the gym, "3:10, dressed and ready to go" and one more "suicide" to go along with it. Rest in peace my friend.
My love and prayers to Kathy, Kylin and Ryan, the family that he loved so much!!!

This is Jessie, Bruce Wood's youngest daughter. I just wanted to say that I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Murren's passing. I know he was such a good buddy to my dad, which has meant a lot to him over the years. I know I was pretty young the last time I saw you guys, but I vividly remember the kindness and warmth of spending time with you all at your home in New Jersey and the couple of times you came to Texas. Love and prayers from our family to yours.

It is with great sadness that I send my heartfelt condolences to Jeff's family and friends. Jeff and I were friends for over 30 years. I coached the Westwood Basketball Team for many years and faced Jeff's teams many times. He was a wonderful coach and an outstanding person. Over recent years we kept in touch through Facebook. He was a remarkable person and I admired him greatly. There are no words to adequately express my sorrow about his loss. As a cancer patient for the past 16 years, I can relate to his struggle with this disease. I will always remember him with a great fondness, affection and respect.

Condolences to the Murren family on the passing of Jeff. While I didn't know Jeff that well in HS, I got to know him better working together on our PHHS/PVHS 50th HS Reunion planning. With me being an ardent Yankee fan and Jeff a dedicated Red Sox fan, we had a lot of laughs about the rivalry. What a great guy he was! May he rest in peace after a courageous battle. Always an inspiration to others.

Mrs. Murren, Dwight and family of Jeff. I am so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. Jeff was a mentor to me growing up in Montvale since Dwight and I were the same age and spent most or time playing sports in the neighborhood. He was always great to us younger kids and that was his nature.
We lost a great person this week and may God be with you all at such a difficult time.
