Obituary of Richard J. Bozzo
BOZZO, Richard J. age 93 of Wyckoff, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July, 17, 2016. Born in Paterson, Richard lived there until coming to Wyckoff 55 years ago. He was a Design Engineer with Worldwide Engineering in Allendale before his retirement 25 years ago. Richard served his country proudly as a Forward Radio Operator with the 284th Field Artillery Battalion in the United States Army. He served during World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of the VFW Post 1049 in Waldwick and a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. Surviving is his loving wife of 73 years Rae Marie (nee Morelli), his devoted children; Richard E. Bozzo and his wife Elaine, and Rae Marie and her husband Joseph Kopfer. Richard also leaves his 4 treasured grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff), Rae Anne (Craig), Brett, and Meghann, and his 3 great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Carlie, and Ashley. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:00 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff (www.vpfh.com). Funeral Mass will follow 10:00 AM at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park. Interment will be in the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to; VFW Post 1049, PO Box 215, Waldwick, NJ 07463.
