Obituary of Ana I. Bartel

Ana I. Bartel of Wyckoff passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. She was 85. Born in Quito, Ecuador she emigrated to the United States in 1954. Ana was a homemaker and lived in Lodi and Pine Beach. Her beloved husband of 53 years, Roger Bartel, died in 2009. Ana is survived by her three daughters: Jeanette Gold, her husband Bruce, Cecilia Lesznik, her husband Gaspar, Ines Chiarello, her partner John Sorensen; eight grandchildren: Melissa, Sandra, Margaux, Felicia, Giana, Ilona, Gaspar and Marica; two great grandsons: Yehuda and Yaakov; three sisters: Eugenia Chiriboga, Ines Araujo and Clemencia Chiriboga. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ana is predeceased by her brothers: Belisario, Eduardo, Gustavo, Alfredo Torres and a sister Midge Palacios. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:15 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will be private. Contributions in Ana’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
