Obituary of Marie F. Edwards

EDWARDS, Marie F. (nee Duncan), age 97 of Waldwick, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Marie lived in Sloatsburg, NY and Paramus before settling in Waldwick in 1953. She was an Administrator for Social Security in offices throughout Bergen County. Marie was a parishioner of St. Luke’s R.C. Church in HoHoKus, a member of Parents without Partners in Oakland and the Tapp Hatters in Midland Park. Surviving are her devoted sons, Bruce T. of Waldwick, William H. of Pittstown, PA and Ralph W. of Warwick, NY. Marie was adored by her grandchildren, Kristina Marie, Jessica Merrill, Michael Thomas, and Thomas Christopher and great grandchildren, Natalie, Gracyn, Henry, and Ava. Marie was pre-deceased by her husband Thomas J. Edwards in 1960. The Edwards family will receive friends on Wednesday, 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral services will be Thursday 9:00 am from the funeral home, followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Luke’s RC Church, 340 Franklin Tpk., HoHoKus. Interment will be in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to Allendale/Waldwick PBA Local # 217, PO Box 166, Allendale, NJ 07601.
