Obituary of Elizabeth Spaldo

Spaldo, Elizabeth (nee Johnstone), age 87 of Hilton Head Island, SC, formally of Ramsey, NJ, died Wednesday, June 1st surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Passaic, NJ and had resided in Ramsey, NJ before moving to Hilton Head Island, SC in 1995. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, SC where she was very active in participating in Eucharistic Adoration and a former parishioner of St. Paul’s RC Church, Ramsey. Elizabeth was a member of Sea Pines Women’s Club, volunteered at the Hilton Head Library and was an avid golfer. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Louis Charles Spaldo, Jr. in 2003. Elizabeth is survived by her loving children; Louis C. (Ellen) Spaldo III of Allendale, Lorraine (John) Sassano of Mahwah, Lynn (Patrick) Foreit of Mahwah, Ann (John) Muoio of Ramsey, Ginny (Jamie) Dawson of Mahwah and Joan (Frank) Tie of Ramsey, her grandchildren; Leslie Cappello, Kelly Consentino, Billy Foreit, Lisa Muoio, Elizabeth Muoio, Cara Dawson, Melissa Dawson, Christina Dawson, Emily Tie and Alex Tie and her great grandchildren Grayson and Isabella Cappello and Avery and Olivia Consentino. Also surviving are her two sisters, Clare (the late John) Ramaglia and Florence (Michael) Pallarino all of Ocean City, NJ. The family will receive friends on Friday 2:00-4:00, 7:00-9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 10:00 am at St. Paul’s RC Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey, NJ 07446 with the interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
