Obituary of Raymond Phillip Helton
Raymond P. Helton “Corkey” passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016. He was 87. Born in Gainesville, GA, he was a resident of Midland Park for over 50 years. Before retiring, he was a carpenter for the Hackensack Local #15. Raymond enjoyed traveling with his loving companion, Lois Cloonan, and was an avid baseball fan and loved the Atlanta Braves. He is predeceased by his dear wife, Muriel Helton, a daughter Robbie Lee Ambrose and a son James Andrew Helton. Ray will be dearly missed by his daughter Sharon A. Shepherd, her husband Bill, longtime companion Lois Cloonan, four grandchildren: Matthew, Theresa, Andrew, Cassidy; five great grandchildren: Cody, Tyler, Jaden, Aiden, Zayden; two sisters: Acie Chapman, Dorene Wilkerson; three brothers: Y.D. Helton, Anthony Helton and Douglas Helton. Visitation will be held, today, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 4 – 8 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
